Your Sims require a balanced life to be happy and efficient citizens. Be sure to build enough Habitations, Workplaces and Venues.
Q: What is the basic goal of the game?
A: You are the specially appointed Mayor of the Metropolis Project. Your objective is to build a grand Metropolis as a new symbol of pride for the SimsNation. To do so, you need to develop the three city districts: Residential, Commercial and Industrial. Each district needs to be well balanced so your Sims have a home, a job, and enough Venues to relax at after a hard day at work. The Metropolis is located on a new island rich in resources and bizarre events. As the Mayor, you will have to take action on opportunities involving a large variety of colorful characters.
Q: How do I make money?
A: Your main source of income will be working Sims, so be sure to build enough workplaces. Also, a small but steady amount of money will come from taxes on homes, workplaces and venues.
Q: I built homes and workplaces. Why aren't my Sims working?
A: Your Sims might be unhappy. Sad Sims won't go to work. You need to build more Venues and a good commuter system for easy Venue accessibility.
Q: I just started a new scenario and I don't have access to the same buildings as in the previous one. Why?
A: Each scenario takes place in one specific district. Each district offers a unique gaming experience with a distinct look and building set.
Q: Do I lose the work done on the districts when I start a new chapter?
A: No, the districts are persistent environments. Each time you visit them you will be able to pursue your previous work, while gaining access to new areas and receiving new objectives. Even when all scenarios are completed, you can continue to develop your districts in Freeplay Mode.
Q: Some buildings seem to be inaccessible even though I have enough money?
A: Certain buildings require you to reach a specific Progression level. Check your Progress meter for details. Completing scenario objectives will increase your progress and provide access to new buildings.
Q: How do I turn off the sound?
A: At game launch, you will be asked if you want to play with or without sound. While in the game, you can always access the Option Menu to turn the sound on or off.
Q: How do I reset the game to default?
A: Highlight "Reset Game" in the Options Menu. Press "Select" to reset options to default and delete saved and completed games.
