How to play

Using the Application

Starting the game

1. Highlight the "NBA Street" icon in your phone's Game Menu and press "OK."
2. After the splash screens, the game's Main Menu will appear.
3. Select Pick Up Game or Street Challenge to start playing.

Main Menu

• Pick Up Game: Start a single game. Selecting this choice will allow you to play as any of the NBA teams or one of the average street teams from the Street Challenge mode.
• Street Challenge: Start or continue a game in Street Challenge mode. Play as of the average street teams and challenge all of the NBA teams to different types of Street Challenge games such as Shots Only, Dunks Only, or even Gamebreakers Only. Every NBA team that you defeat will give you a choice to add an NBA star to your roster.
• Tutorial: Learn the controls of the game and how to play.
• Achievements: View achievements and trophies that can be accomplished.
• More Games: Learn about more exciting EA games.
• Options: Options to set sound, vibration and tutorial settings.
• Help: Instructions on Game Modes, Controls and Rules.
• About: Customer support and legal information.
• Exit: Exit the game and return to your phone's menu.


Gamebreaker Mode

Perform tricks, Alley Oops and Dunks to add to your Gamebreaker Bar at the top of the screen and score baskets to fill the bar. If the ball gets stolen before you can score, all Gamebreaker progress is lost for that drive. When the Gamebreaker Bar is full and blinking, a glowing circle will appear at center court. Position a player inside the circle with a full Gamebreaker Bar and press "OK" or "5" Key to activate Gamebreaker Mode. In this mode, player stats are increased and tricks are bigger. Take advantage of this mode to do super slams or alley-oops.

Saving/Loading

Games progress is auto saved upon exiting the application. Upon re-entering, you will be prompted to continue the saved game or start a new game in any mode.

Game Screen

The Heads Up Display (HUD) on the Game screen shows:
• Team Icons: Displays team icons.
• Score: Team scores are displayed on each side of the screen.
• Shot Clock: The time you have to shoot is displayed on the ball in the middle of the HUD.
• Gamebreaker Bar: Each team has a Gamebreaker Bar displaying their progress toward Gamebreaker Mode.
 

Tips and Hints

• Don't hold the ball too long on offense or there's a chance it will be stolen.
• Avoid shooting long, low-percentage three-pointers.
• Watch the game clock to take last second shots.
• Watch the icon color beneath the ball handler to determine the best time to shoot. The ball handler's icon color represents when to attempt a shot:
• Red Icon = Will often miss shot.
• Yellow = Might make the shot
• Green = Best time to attempt a shot.
• Positioning yourself underneath the basket gives you a better opportunity to block shots. Remember, there is no goaltending.
