How to Play In "Quickplay," you will be given the choice to fish one of three lakes. Use your D-Pad or number keys to highlight a lake. Information about the lake appears in a text box on the bottom of the screen. Press the right soft key or "OK" to select a lake, and an overview displays fishing spots, indicated by red dots. If "hints" have been turned on, you will see advice about what kind of lure to use.
Use the D-Pad or numbers 2, 4, 6 or 8 to toggle between fishing spots. Press the right soft key under "select" or use "OK" on the D-Pad to choose an area. Once at the edge of the lake, you can start casting. Use your D-Pad to move the target area closer to the shadows of the fish. Press "OK" or "5" to cast.
Shadows indicate fish under the water surface. Cast into this area, and a fish is likely to see the lure and bite. You can 'feel' the bite if vibration mode is on. A tension meter progresses upward - when it's in the orange or green, press "Ok" or 5 to hook the fish. Once you have hooked the fish, you enter the 'fight mode. A circle displays with the fish in the center. Your goal is to use the D-Pad or numbers to keep the fish in the circle until the meter displayed on the side of the screen reaches the top.
Once the hook is set, you will automatically go into 'catch' mode. Use the D-Pad, or corresponding numbers to match the green arrows before the timer ends.
When you successfully fight a fish, you will be told the kind of catch, and the weight, and the fish will be added to the scrolling "live well" at the bottom of the display. The following is a list of game controls:
