Use the D-Pad to move about the menus. Advance through the story by pressing OK to choose an option. Try to make choices that will help boost your Fame, Style and Talent. Build up all 3 stats in order to help win votes.
Starting the game: Highlight "American Idol" in the games menu on your phone, and press "Select" (or "OK" on the D-Pad) to start. You'll be prompted to choose sound either on or off. After you make your selection, the EA splash screen will appear.
Main Menu:
- New Season - Start a new game
- Quick Play - Play the songs you've unlocked in the singing game.
- Options - Modify Sound and Vibration options.
- Help - View detailed instructions on how to play the game
- About - contains copyright and customer service information
- Exit - Return to your PhoneOS
AutoSave: The game will autosave following the completion of a week or when you change any options.
How do I play the singing game? Press any direction on the D-Pad, the OK key, or 2/4/6/8 to make your star icon rise and let go to let it fall.
My (Talent, Style, or Fame) stats are too low, what do I do? Make decisions in the story that will boost your stats. In the singing game, try to get streaks of 50 to get stat bonuses. Check your Goals menu for goals that offer stat bonuses and try to fulfill the requirements.
I can't play 'Fame' in Quick Play, it appears locked? Play through the Season mode in order to unlock songs for Quick Play.
I can't resume the singing game from the pause menu, why is that? You can disable sound in the options menu while playing the singing game if you wish to pause and resume without retrying the song.
