Playing Tetris® on your phone - In the Applications menu, find and launch Tetris®.
- The EA Mobile and Tetris® splash screens appear first, followed by the Tetris® Main Menu.
- Once the game loads, the Main Menu appears and displays the following options:
- Play Now - Start a Single Player game.
- Multiplayer - Start a Multiplayer game.
- Highlights - View your statistics and the Leaderboard
- Options - Open the Options menu. Highlight one of the eight options below and press the Select softkey.
- Single Game Settings: Open the Game Settings menu.
- Multiplayer Settings: Open the Multiplayer Settings menu.
- Music: Select Music1/Music2/None. (on some handsets)
- Sound FX: Turn sound effects on/off.
- Vibration: Turn vibration on/off.
- Tutorial: Turn tutorial on/off.
- Ghost: Turn Ghost Piece on/off.
- Reset Statistics: Reset all game statistics.
- Help - Open the Help section.
- About - Displays copyright and development information.
- Exit - Exit Tetris®.
Single Game Settings and Multiplayer Settings Access the Single Game Settings and Multiplayer Settings from the Options menu, or by pressing the Settings softkey, or any number on your keypad at the loading screen.
After selecting Single Player Setting, choose the Game Mode you wish to play. Highlight and select - using the "OK" or select softkey, one of the following 6 modes:
- Marathon - Classic Tetris. Attempt to score the highest number of points over 15 levels (150 lines).
- Ultra - Clear as many lines as you can in two minutes.
- 40 Lines - Clear 40 lines as fast as you can.
- Versus - Play against the computer in you phone. Clear at least 2 lines at once to attack the computer.
- Clash - Compete to reach the high score limit first, playing in the same matrix as your opponent.
- Pass 'n Play - Up to 4 opponents. Compete to reach the high score, all play the same Tetriminos™.
If selecting Multiplayer Settings, choose from the following options:
- Register
- Sign In
- Game Mode
- Opponent
If you are a new player who would like to join the fun network of Tetris® fans, you must register. The network allows you to keep track of your scores and stats, check the Leaderboard and compete against other players over the network. In order to register, follow these easy-to-execute onscreen steps. First, agree to accept the EA privacy policy, and then provide a User Name, Password email address. Once you have registered, choose Game Mode, and if desired, select a specific Opponent, or let the network find a match for you. Choose from varying skills as fits your profile.
In the Multiplayer Settings menu, select Game Mode to display and choose one of the following modes:
- Versus - Compete against another player, sending lines back and forth.
- Clash - Battle on a common Matrix. Both players' queue and score are visible, in order to strategize how to maximize line clears, while blocking the opponent's progress.
- Challenge - Up to 4 opponents play the same sequence of Tetriminos™ and try to make the best possible score. The player with the most points wins. The game is played locally using Pass 'n Play.
In the Multiplayer Settings menu, select Opponent to connect with your Tetris® partner:
- Enter the Opponent Name, or select "Any," using Right or Left on the D-Pad.
- Enter the Opponent's Skill level, or select "Any," using Right or Left on the D-Pad.
Move and rotate falling Tetriminos™ to form horizontal lines in the Matrix. When a line is completed, it disappears from the Matrix. Earn bonuses for clearing multiple lines at once. The game ends when a new Tetrimino™ is blocked from entering the Matrix.
On right side of screen, the next four blocks in your queue are displayed. Use this advance view to determine how best to position your blocks as they fall.
A "Ghost Piece," shaded gray at the bottom of your matrix, indicates where Tetriminos™ will fall. You can choose to turn off the Ghost Piece in the Options menu.
If you think you should delay the Tetrimino™ that begins to drop, use the number "O" key to hold it back by swapping it with the next Tetrimino™ in the queue. Select number "O" again when you'd like to play the held Tetrimino™.
How do I launch the game? In the Applications menu, highlight "Tetris®" and press OK to load the game. The EA Mobile and Tetris® splash screens appear first, followed by the Tetris® Main Menu.
How do I play? From the Tetris® Main Menu, highlight options by using the Up/Down arrows on the direction pad.
To activate an option, highlight the option in the menu and press Select.
Highlight the "Play Now" or "Multiplayer" option, and press Select or "OK" to start playing.
What game options are available? You can choose from one of eight available options by selecting the Options menu.
Options - Highlight an option in the list and press Select softkey to change its value.
- Single Game Settings: Opens the Game Settings menu.
- Multiplayer Settings: Opens the Multiplayer Settings menu.
- Music: Selects Music1/Music2/None. (on some phones)
- Sound FX: Turns sound effects on/off.
- Vibration: Turns vibration on/off.
- Tutorial: Turns tutorial on/off.
- Ghost: Turns Ghost Piece on/off.
- Reset Statistics: Resets all game statistics.
Change the value of the options by highlighting the option from the list and pressing Left or Right on your D-Pad, or the Select softkey.
After setting your options, press Back (left softkey) to return to the Main menu. You are now ready to play Tetris®.
What are the controls? Use either the D-Pad or the number pad to move the Tetriminos™.
[Left] or [4]: Move Left.
[Right] or [6]: Move Right.
[Up] or [2]: Hard Drop (makes the Tetrimino™ to drop instantly).
[Down] or [8]: Soft Drop (makes the Tetrimino™ fall faster).
[0]: Hold (swaps the falling Tetrimino™ with the Tetrimino™ in the hold queue).
Use numbers or the D-Pad to rotate your Tetriminos™.
[1], [9] or [*]: Rotate Counter-clockwise.
D-Pad Center, [3], [5], [7] or [#]: Rotate Clockwise.
Back softkey or "Clr" or "Clear" will put you in the Pause Menu.
From the Pause Menu, you can highlight and select these options:
- Resume
- Options
- Help
- Menu
- Exit
How do I reset my statistics? Use the "Reset Statistics" option found in the Options menu.
How do I access the Help section? Highlight "Help" in the Main Menu and press Select to access the Help section. To access the Help during a game, press Pause and select "Help" from the Pause menu.
