Starting the game
Highlight the "MADDEN NFL 08" icon in the game menu on your phone and press the "OK" button to start the game. After the splash screens, the game's main menu will appear.

Game Objectives
Madden NFL 08 features all 32 NFL teams. You can play a quick game with selected teams or play through a season to lead your team to the Super Bowl.

Game Modes
Play Now: Access Play Now from the splash screen and the main menu. 'PLAY NOW' allows you to quickly jump onto the field and play with the 2006-2007 Super Bowl teams (Bears vs Colts). In 'PLAY NOW', your team is always defaulted as the home team (Indianapolis Colts). In addition, you will always receive the kickoff to start the game in 'PLAY NOW'. In 'PLAY NOW', quarter lengths are defaulted to 3 minutes.

Season: Play through an adjustable Season length of 1, 7, 16 games. In Season mode, quarter lengths are adjustable from 3, 5, 7 minute quarters.

Exhibition: Play a single game using any team. In Exhibition mode, quarter lengths are adjustable from 3, 5, 7 minute quarters.

Main Menu

New Game/Season: Choose your team and settings and start a season.
Play Now: Immediately access on-field play with the default Super Bowl teams.
Exhibition: Play a single game using any of the 32 available teams.
Front Office: Access team rosters, trade players and team depth charts for substitutions.
Help & Stats: Tutorials on the following areas of the game: Game Modes, Controls, and Rules. User also has access to user statistics.
Options: Set sound, game, and other special settings.
About: Customer support information and Legal Information.
Exit: The selection will exit the game and return you to your phone's menu.

How to Play
MOVEMENT
Up-Left = 1
Up = D-Up or 2
Up-Right = 3
Left = D-Left or 4
Right = D-Right or 6
Down-Left = 7
Down = D-Down or 8
Down-Right = 9

OFFENSE
Pass = Dpad Up, Down, Left, Right or OK will throw ball to receiver
Pass = 2, 4, 6, 8 or OK will throw ball to receiver
Hike Ball = press 'OK or 5' key to hike ball.
FVP Activation = press 'OK or 5' key after ball snap to activate Field Vision Passing (FVP)
Call Time-out = #
Audible = 0 press 0 before the snap for audible
Pause = left soft key or CLR key
Pre snap pre-read play = right soft key
Deactivate FVP = right soft key during FVP activation

DEFENSE
Switch Player = * or right soft key
Power Tackle/Intercept = 'OK'
Pause = left soft key or CLR key
Pre snap pre-read play = right soft key

PASSING
To pass in Madden NFL 08, press 'OK' to hike the ball. After ball hike, press 'OK' to activate FVP (Field Vision Passing) to display receiver arrow icons. Look for the icon color that is GREEN or YELLOW and press the D-pad direction to pass to that specific receiver. FVP timer duration is based on QB accuracy, so the more accurate the QB; the more time you will have to complete passes. Avoid throwing to RED icon receivers as this will result in frequent dropped passes, or frequent interceptions.
