General Description
Each year, the student who gets the highest marks in the various Hogwarts classes and O.W.L.s is awarded the Studious Success Cup. Attend Hogwarts classes and aim for the highest score in each; you can visit each class a maximum of three times. When you reach the end of the school year, you will unlock the Ordinary Wizarding Levels (O.W.L.s). Passing these will be a challenge - make sure you've studied hard!
Divination
Description and goal
Which of the four items is being revealed in the crystal ball?
Press the corresponding directional key to select the item.
Make your choice as quickly as you can to get a good score. Mistakes will add a penalty to the timer.
Specific control scheme
Press Up or 2 to select the top item; Down or 8 to select the bottom item; Left or 4 to select the item on the left-hand side; Right or 6 to select the item on the right-hand side.
Transfiguration
Description and goal
You'll turn one object into another by arranging the pieces to fit the new shape.
Specific control scheme
Move the pieces around by pressing Left or 4 to go left; Right or 6 to go right; Up or 2 to go up; and Down or 8 to go down. You can use OK or 5 to cycle through the pieces; 1 to go to the piece closest to the left; or 3 to go to the piece closest to the right. Pressing # will rotate a piece clockwise; * will rotate a piece anti-clockwise.
Potions
Description and goal
Whilst a potion is being made, count the ingredients that land in the cauldron, then type in the correct number of the particular ingredient displayed using your keypad. (Don't count ingredients that land outside of the cauldron!)
Specific control scheme
To answer, type in the appropriate number using your phone's keypad.
Astronomy
Description and goal
Try to memorize the constellation, then draw the missing lines by selecting the stars.
Press the directional keys to move the cursor and OK or 5 to select a star. To get a good score, complete the constellation as quickly as you can. Mistakes will lose you time.
Specific control scheme
Put the cursor over a star. Press OK or 5, then move it over the next star. Now, press OK or 5 again to draw a line between the two stars. Keep drawing lines until you complete the constellation.
Charms
Description and goal
To cast a Charm, you'll need to find the spell names hidden in the grid of letters. Earn a high score by making the whole grid disappear as quickly as possible.
Specific control scheme
Press the directional keys to move your cursor over each letter of a charm name (in the correct order) until you highlight a complete word; the word will then disappear. Be careful, though - you can't move over highlighted letters, and you can only move over letters that complete a word.
Care of magical creatures
Description and goal
Feed the Thestral the correct quantity of food. For each piece of meat, type the number that builds up the correct equation.
Specific control scheme
To answer, type in the appropriate number using your phone's keypad.
Herbology
Description and goal
To cast a spell successfully, use the wand to select the plant that will grow the tallest. Keep an eye on the plant heights - and on the growth predictions - to see which plant will be tallest.
Specific control scheme
Use Left or 4 to move the wand to the left; Right or 6 to move the wand to the right; and OK or 5 to select the plant that would be the tallest following a spell cast.
History of magic
Description and goal
Read the question carefully, then select the correct answer. Get as many correct answers as you can to achieve the highest score possible.
