Boggle How to Play
LAUNCHING THE GAME
In the Menu, highlight “Boggle” and press the ‘OK’. This will load the game: the Jamdat splash screens will appear and you’ll be brought to the game main menu.
SETTING UP YOUR GAME
Once you are in the game main menu, you can highlight menu options by using the Up / Down directions on the direction pad. To access an option, highlight it and press the ‘‘Select’’ key. There are seven options on this screen:
Play – Highlight this option and press "Select" to open the Choose Game menu. Choose to play a Classic, Challenge, Puzzle/Untimed or a Pass 'n Play game.
Statistics – Highlight this option and press ‘‘Select’’ to access the Statistics screen. Review the high scores and best times for each game mode.
Options – Highlight this option and press ‘‘Select’’ to access the Options menu. There are four options available for all game modes, and 2 additional options for Classic and Pass 'n Play modes. Highlight the option and press "Select" to change the option.
- Sound F/X - Turn sound effects and vibration on or off
- Animation - Turn in-game animations on or off
- Vibration - Turn game vibration on or off
- Tutorial - Turn tutorial screens on or off
- Word Length – Set the minimum word length to 3 or 4 letters (Classic and Pass 'n Play only)
- Time Limit – Set the time limit for the game to 3, 5 or 10 minutes (Classic and Pass 'n Play only)
Help – Highlight this option and press ‘‘Select’’ to access the General Help Section. Game specific Help is accessed via the Star key while playing the game.
About – Highlight this option and press ‘‘Select’’ to view Copyright and development information.
More Games – Highlight this option and press "Select" to view information about more great games from JAMDAT.
Exit – Exit Boggle.
Basic Rules
The goal of JAMDAT Boggle is to create words out of adjacent letters in a 4x4 letter grid.
Select adjacent letters to create the word. You can select words horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
You can't skip letters and you can't use the same letter twice in the same word.
You score points for all valid words you find in the grid. Duplicate words are worth zero points.
Scoring:
You score points based on the length of the word.
- 3-4 letters = 1 point
- 5 letters = 2 points
- 6 letters = 3 points
- 7 letters = 5 points
- 8+ letters = 11 points
Valid Words:
Valid words are at least 3 letters long. All plural forms are allowed.All verb tenses are allowed.Words contained in larger words are allowed but each word must be entered separately.
Game Modes
The following game modes are available: Classic Boggle; Challenge Boggle; Puzzle/Untimed Boggle; and Pass 'n Play Boggle.
